I have logged a solid 35+ years of direct experience (excluding training) in music and sound, and I have a consummate understanding of both their mechanics and aesthetics. I entered the world of music/audio originally as a classically and jazz-trained pianist and composer. After performing live for several years, I officially began my career in 1984. Chronological work history overview:
2016-2023: Owner/operator of Clement Creative Entertainment, North Hollywood, CA.
Compose and sound design for the in-house projects; manage artistic talent in multiple mediums; write curriculums for film schools; promote affiliate projects in multiple mediums; oversee all facets of the business’ operations.
2013-2016: Residency as composer, sound designer and re-recording engineer at Westwind Media and Penta Resources, Burbank, CA.
Brought music and sound design projects to the facilities for ADR recording, foley, and re-recording.
2010-2013: In-house composer and sound designer at Filmpool, Burbank, CA.
Composed and sound designed for all of their in-house film and TV projects.
2004-2009: Re-recording engineer at Mix Magic, Hollywood, CA.
Mixed their in-house TV shows and films.
2003-2007: Re-recording engineer at Soundworks, Reseda, CA.
Mixed feature films.
2000-2006: House composer and sound designer at Post Modern Studios, Pasadena, CA.
Managed the composing and sound design work for all of their in-house projects.
1999-2004: Residencies at both Olympic Sound Studios in West L.A., CA., and The Bakery Studios in Burbank, CA.
Used both facilities for the live recordings I needed for both the music projects and the post audio film packages I managed.
1996-1999: Composer, arranger, and music editor for Celebrity Cruises and Crystal Cruises.
Worked in those capacities creating and editing the music tracks that accompany the musical live performances for their live-show extravaganzas.
1996-2022: Freelance composer and sound designer, working from my home studio in Los Angeles, CA.
This has been ongoing since 1996 and has dovetailed into other studio residencies I have had since. I have composed for artists, as well as film and TV/music-for-picture scenarios. I have done sound design packages for a host of independent films. Much of my work has been done in-house over the past 26 years, with my needs to go to the studios where I have had residencies dictated by the needs for live instrumental recording (primarily for instrument and vocal recording), as well as music mixing, ADR and foley recording, and film and TV final mix scenarios and formats.
1995-1996: Composer, arranger, and music editor at Alan Ett Music, Burbank, CA.
At AEM I ghost-composed and arranged music, as well as edited music for multiple TV shows.
1988-1994: House composer and sound designer (and part owner) at Post Logic, Hollywood, CA.
At Post Logic I owned and operated two Synclavier and Direct-to-Disk studios: one for composing and producing music, the other strictly for sound design. While there I did record work for some of the biggest music artists and music labels; I composed for national and local commercials; I did sound packages for both independent and studio feature films; as well as sound designed most of the out-of-house on-air promos for CBS, NBC, ABC, HBO and Fox.
